A co-parenting app that starts with the schedule
Most co-parenting apps start with communication: messages, notifications, a shared timeline. Useful, but it does not solve where most of the friction comes from — that you do not agree on which days the child is with whom, or that the agreement sits slightly differently in two calendars.

What to look for when choosing
- Does the app work the schedule out for you? A shared calendar where you drag blocks around yourself is a shared calendar. A schedule that projects itself forward — holidays, public holidays and the yearly day count included — is something else.
- Does it know the Dutch situation? School holidays by region, Sinterklaas, two days of Christmas, and the 156-day threshold the Belastingdienst uses. A US app does not know any of that.
- What happens if the other parent will not join? An app that only works once you are both in it does not work in the hardest cases.
- Do you pay per family or per parent? Some providers charge per parent, which doubles the cost between you.
- Can you leave? Can you export your data and delete your account without emailing anyone?

For full use, yes — the whole point is that you see the same calendar. You can start on your own and invite them later; the free tools work solo either way.
Does it work if we no longer talk?
That is what the schedule is for. Everything is fixed ahead, swap requests go across as a proposal with an answer, and the tone check reads along before you send.
Can our mediator have access?
There is a separate route for mediators.
Can we take our data with us if we stop?
Yes. You export your data and delete your account yourself, with nobody in between.
